UX Design, App Design On The Run is one of the largest ‘petrol & convenience’ chains in Australia. In this rapidly changing sector my team and I were tasked with designing a simple, modern and scalable UX that allows customers to pre-order and gift coffees, sub’s, burgers, supermarket and other items as well as earning rewards and paying for fuel directly from their car. Sounds simple right!? This project really pushed the boundaries of both UX design and implementation with integration into retail systems and loyalty programs. Complexities, challenges and new technologies were fully embraced; with beacon and GPS detecting when customers are in-store, allowing them to pick-up their food and coffee. ORDERING PROCESS After scope we starting out by fleshing out interactive wireframes and developing a simple but scaleable UI which would allow us to iron out any details and test user flow. As the project required a quick path to purchase, an intuitive shop UI was designed which allows the user to go from home screen to purchase as quickly as possible. HOME SCREEN Animations were produced to explain the UI to client, shareholders and developers. Updating the wireframes with real designs as the project progressed kept the workflow agile and ensured the complex build ran as smoothly as possible. The app was released in July 2017 and has many innovations in the pipeline. HOME SCREEN ‘SMART FEED’ MENU ORDERING FAVOURITES REWARDS BEACON COLLECTION
